My unit trust is not performing

A reader from Hertfordshire is looking to move her investments.
Karen Crowshaw, Halifax Bank investments expert, tackles the problem.
Grace from Watford ask:
I have got all my spare cash tied up in a unit trust but it’s not doing very well.
I don’t know what to do as I no longer use a financial adviser to broker my investments.
Should I change funds?
Karen replies:
The decision to switch funds should not be taken lightly as there may be costs involved and there is no guarantee that the new fund will perform better for you.
A new fund should be identified based on your attitude to risk and personal circumstances, not performance alone.
There are thousands of funds available on the market, so it would be advisable to speak to a Financial Adviser who will select an appropriate fund(s) for you based on those factors.
