Scottish Widows broadens pensions

Wednesday, 27 May 2009 12:00

Scottish Widows has diversified its pension products by adding two multi-manager funds to the investment pool.

Its core range of pension funds will now include, as part of the underlying investment, The Scottish Widows Multi-Manager Diversity Fund and the Scottish Widows Multi-Manager Select Boutiques Fund.

The two funds are run by Scottish Widows fund managers and invest in other investment funds, such as unit trusts, bonds and property, which means investors’ cash is spread across a greater range of assets.

And the two multi-manager funds are run by two leading fund managers, who have strong reputations within the fund management profession.

Alasdair Fraser, head of investment services at Scottish Widows, said: “These funds are run by the most highly-regarded multi-managers in the UK, Mark Harries and Simon Wood, and will form the cornerstone of our investment going forward.

“Providing investors with more choice will become increasingly important and multi-manager investing has a significant role to play in this.”
