Savings accounts for non-UK residents?

Thursday, 11 June 2009 02:54

A reader from Buckinghamshire is looking for a savings account, but she is not a UK resident.

Andy McKechnie, head of sales and marketing for savings at Halifax, tackles the problem.

Jovita from High Wycombe asks:

Which UK saving/deposits accounts are available for non UK-residents?

Andy replies:

This all depends on the savings provider – everyone is different in what they offer.

It’s also important to note that interest rates may be different for non-UK residents.

Have a look at a few different providers and see what accounts they offer to non UK residents and if the account suits you in terms of access, interest rate and how you want to manage your account i.e. online.
