Santander is extending its range of cash ISAs in a move aimed at helping savers make the most of their tax free nest eggs.

The bank’s two year fixed rate Major ISA pays four per cent AER – plus, if Rory McIIroy wins one of the eligible golf Majors before the ISA matures, customers will earn an additional one-off bonus of 0.1 per cent at maturity.

The next competition is the US Open, which starts on June 14.

For savers looking for a shorter term option, a one year fixed rate ISA offers 3.5 per cent AER, while for those who prefer instant access, the Direct ISA Issue 9 offers a rate of 3.3 per cent AER (variable) with a bonus of 2.8 per cent for the first 12 months.

Savers can deposit their current tax year cash ISA allowance as well as transfer in previous years’ cash ISA savings.

Matt Hall at Santander said: “With consumers continuing to feel the squeeze on their finances, it’s even more important to save in tax free accounts.”
