Lloyds TSB unveils 2012 Student Account

Lloyds TSB has today launched its 2012 Student Current Account, which offers tiered interest and a fee-free planned overdraft.

Account holders will get a free NUS extra card for three years, providing access to exclusive discounts, offers and competitions from more than 150 brands and retailers including Spotify, Amazon, Apple, CrossCountry trains, Odeon, JJB Sports and ASOS.

The account also offers £75 discount off a holiday booking with STA Travel.

Students can apply for a planned overdraft of up to £1,500 in years one to three and up to £2,000 in years four to six, and can sign up for free texts, including limit alerts, high/ low balance, overseas transaction and weekly balance alerts.

They will also have access to a Mobile Banking App, which allows users to view account balances, pay bills and transfer money between accounts.

Jatin Patel at Lloyds TSB said: “Our student offering has been designed to provide the right financial help to students starting university, many of whom will be managing their money for the first time.”
