Guaranteed income bond

A guaranteed income bond provides a regular monthly income with the security of knowing exactly how much you will receive. Guaranteed income bonds (GIBS) offer a fixed income over a set investment period of one to five years in addition to you receiving back your original investment at the end of the agreed term.

The minimum investment for a guaranteed income bond is usually £5,000 and you can choose at what frequency you would like to receive your income; monthly, quarterly or annually.

There are a wide range of providers of GIB’s including investment banks, retail banks, insurance companies and other independent financial advisor’s so it is important to research the market carefully and compare different types of guaranteed income bonds to find the right type of investment. Other types of similar investments include high income bonds, investment bonds and managed bonds.
