Clydesdale and Yorkshire cut fees on new fixed rate mortgages

Tuesday, 26 March 2013 02:19

The Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have announced new low rate two and five-year fixed rate mortgages.

For borrowers who have a 60 per cent loan-to-value (LTV) ratio, a two-year fix at 2.49 per cent is available and a five-year deal at 2.99 per cent is on offer.

Existing customers won’t have to pay an arrangement fee on a new mortgage or a remortgage until May 11th 2013. The current remortgage arrangement fee is £999.

The waiving of the arrangement fee is also available to new customers who open an account with the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.

Homeowners who switch mortgages from another provider will be able to get £500 off the fee and won’t have to pay any legal or valuation fees if they use Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ appointed solicitors and valuers.

Andrew Pearce, Retail Director for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, said: “Many people are now opting for fixed rate mortgages so they will know exactly how much their mortgage payments will be on a monthly basis.

“We remain focused on offering a range of competitive products that meet the differing needs of our customers.”
