Bupa has launched a new product billed as an alternative to traditional health insurance.

The Bupa Patient Cash plan lets customers choose from one of three levels of cover and enables them to get quick diagnosis and treatment.

Prices start at £11.70 a month for the product, with cover including up to £600 per year for consultations, £2,000 for in-patient hospital stays and £400 a year for hospital day patient surgery.

Up to £600 is also on offer for physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic or homoeopathy.

The plan “gives people access to consultants as early as possible so that they can quickly find out what’s wrong and get the right treatment”, says Emma Exelby, sales manager for Bupa Cash Plan.
