Fund supermarkets
Essentially, fund supermarkets are platforms letting you buy a fund or a selection of funds with choice of many different fund providers (typically more than 50).
Previously, if you built a portfolio of funds from different management companies you would have to deal with each different manager individually - using different application forms, making separate payments, and receiving separate statements and valuations.
And as you moved into more funds and more fund managers the whole process became more complicated.
Using fund supermarkets you can do all this in one place, filling in just one application form, making one payment and receiving one statement.
