Wedding insurance

Wedding insurance covers many of the costs of a wedding, as well as the cost of rescheduling, in the case that something goes wrong on the big day.

With the average cost of a wedding in the UK now more than £15,000, wedding insurance covers the policyholder for losses caused by failure of any of the more traditional elements of a wedding to perform.

From around £60, policies cover the venue, photographer, clothes, transport, flowers, music, catering, rings and other traditional aspects of weddings.

Some policies also include cover for legal expenses for contractual disputes and even stress counselling for the bride, groom, and their parents.

Typically, it costs more to cover against cancellation and for marquees or gazebos.

Policies do not generally include repaying the cost of a wedding if either the bride or groom gets cold feet.
