Asda breaks £1bn life insurance cover barrier

Monday, 18 Feb 2008 16:05
Asda now provides life insurance cover of over £1 billion, a year after entering the market.

Since entering into a partnership with LifeSearch, Asda Life has written 8,119 protection policies – a 50 per cent rise on policy sales.

Asda differs from other supermarkets by not selling off-the-peg life insurance cover, but by offering independent advice and a full range of life insurance products via broker LifeSearch.

Asda director of financial services at ASDA, Gev Lynott, said: "We are very proud of our life insurance and protection proposition with LifeSearch and the results reflect the hard work and dedication we have all put in this last year.

"It is a perfect synergy with our supermarket range where we can offer our customers excellent choice, fantastic value and an Asda warm and friendly service at the same time. With the support of LifeSearch we will continue to work on helping to plug the protection gap even further."
