Prepay card provider M-Cube is launching a new card that gives customers the chance to help to a charity dedicated to conserving endangered species and returning them to their natural habitats.
The Aspinall Foundation Maestro prepaid card provides 50 per cent of the card's profits to the Aspinall Foundation with the aim of raising £500,000 in the first year for projects in the UK and Africa.
Charges on the card include: an initial £9.99 purchase fee; a £1.99 delivery charge; a 50p fee for transactions; £2 for UK ATM withdrawals; 50p online bank transfer fee, £5 administration charge and 50p for top-ups at the Post Office.
Benefits include ten per cent off souvenirs at the Aspinall Foundation's parks Howletts and Port Lympne, a monthly prize draw for VIP trips to the parks and discounts from a number of retail partners.
TV funnyman Vic Reeves said: "I’ve been a proud supporter of the Aspinall Foundation’s animal conservation programmes for several years now.
"With the launch of The Aspinall Foundation Maestro Prepaid Card, everyone who shares my passion for the work of this worthwhile charity has the opportunity to help make a real difference every time they go shopping either on the high street or online; as well as enjoying a range of discount and benefits."
John Kerr, finance director at M-Cube, added: "This card is not just another piece of plastic. It offers genuine additional benefits including discounts and reward opportunities which will cement the bonds between cardholders and The Aspinall Foundation.
"This reflects M-Cube's commitment to challenging conventional thinking in the prepaid market and driving prepaid cards from the fringes to the mainstream of everyday consumer life here in the UK."
