Monday, 21 Jul 2008 11:21
A reader's son to heading off to live in the USA, but his father is worried about his health insurance.

Ian Durrell, myfinances.co.uk insurance expert from the Only Group, which includes onlyinsurance.com, tackles the issue.

John from Portishead asks:

My son is travelling to the USA to live and work for 12 months on a J-1 Visa.

He needs a student health plan but the plans on offer by Harbour Group and HTH Worldwide do not appear to give high enough cover.

Please can you advise.

Ian replies

This is quite a complex scenario and would be best served in consultation with an advisor – feel free to contact us on 0800 1777 501 and ask for Mr Hall our resident Travel Insurance expert
