Is my no claims bonus lost?

Tuesday, 04 Nov 2008 17:38
A reader from Lincoln's wife has sold her car. But odes she keep her no claims bonus (NCB)

Ian Durrell, myfinances.co.uk insurance expert from the Only Group, which includes onlyinsurance.com, tackles the issue.

Abela from Lincoln asks:

If my wife sold her car but is still a named driver on my insurance policy, does she still keep her no claims bonus when she decides buy another car?

Ian replies:

Generally you will keep NCB for two years whilst not being the main driver.

Therefore even as a named driver on your policy your wife her NCB would cease after two years.
